Whoops – forgot to check in.

Yes, one meal a day is a very bad idea. I just have trouble eating any more than that – I had some problems with eating for a long time, and I feel sick if I eat before 3 PM. I’ve been having the occasional apple/pear/whatever just lately, and I guess I just need to gradually build up the amounts I eat. You’re right – eating too little is just as bad as eating too much!

My main problem – is I don’t cook for myself, so portion control is a bitch. My family are all on the top scale of obese, and they eat like horses. I’m dished up a plate which I can only manage half of (as I am fully up) but my 7 year old brother still manages to eat all of his!

(Put it this way, the standard Sunday dinner consists of:

Two Yorkshire Puddings
Four slices of Roast Pork
Carrots
Broccoli
Peas
3 Roast Potatos
3 Roast Parsnip
Pork Crackling
At least a whole potatos-worth of mashed potato

not to mention being drowned in gravy)

Our evening meal, normally, is at least 2000 calories for one meal; and if I say it’s far too much, they just tell me to eat it otherwise I’ll starve. Yes, I’m not eating so much at the moment – but there’s a reason they’re all so large, and I’m the only one remotely healthy. (I weigh 14 stone and I am 6’1, this is just a fraction over the ‘Healthy’ BMI)

Doesn’t help gym memberships = expensive. I want to get back into the habit of going to the gym regularly, but I really can’t afford to spend £50 a month whilst on benefits!

In other news; been dealing with a heck of a lot of stress lately. Friends are driving me insane. Does anyone else ever think why they bother getting involved in people, if it’s just going to cause stress for yourself?

Yeah, no wonder you’re feeling depressed matey.

Just stand your ground and only eat what you feel like eating. It’s your body and nobody should force you into doing unsavoury acts with it. My family were just the same but I just stood my ground.

Your best bet is to book an appointment with a dietitian. Your mother already acknowledges you aren’t “eating properly”, so she would agree you need to see a specialist. If she goes with you, she will have to listen to what they recommend, and will be put in a position where she has to change your diet accordingly.

Once you get your diet fixed, chances are good that you’ll feel less depressed.

Depression-wise, I have to say things have been pretty good. It’s just my sleeping/motivation which is still a bit off.

I should be going to the doctors shortly to see if I’m eligible for the ‘Live for Life’ scheme, in which you get most of the cost of a gym membership paid for by the NHS, for 12 weeks. That’s long enough to lose a bit of weight – and hopefully get into the schedule of working out regularly. (There is no denying that working out improves your mood and sleeping patterns!)

Well, I have to say, that’s a good start matey! Crikey, I wouldn’t mind a free gym memebership! ^_^

In other news…

Just uploaded another assignment to the OU servers for marking…two to go and I’m finished with M150. Once that’s done, I’m back to just one OU course…

Bought two Wii games last night: Resident Evil Zero and The Conduit. The latter is said to be the best FPS on the Wii, so I’m looking forward to playing it tomorrow morning…

Oh, still trying to figure out my 3D maze engine…but I’ve babbled enough about that in the Creativity section! ^_^

Got the new Scissor Sisters album this week which is called Night Work. Its all right, but not as good as the first two albums, which were diverse in their tracks(which is good as Ta’da was using the stage-show theme to unify the album).

Night Work is basically hardcore gay disco(which is okay, I ain’t got nothing against those whose bread is buttered the other side), but there aren’t any songs that stand out like “Land of a thousand words”, “Mary” or “Return to Oz”. Saying that, its got a few decent tracks such as “Sex & Violence”, “Fire with Fire” and “Invisible Light”(which is a bit like MJ’s Thriller with the cameo from Sir Ian McKellan). None of them are gobsmacking but they are catchy.

In all its a bit like a Queen album featuring only tracks in the vein of “Living on my own”… o_O
