Post How to create a Quake I texture

Hello guys, I did some level editing in the past (mostly with the Build engine and Unreal, tbh) but I never created a texture on my own. Now I’ve got this image file of 128×128 8 bit depht and I’d like to turn it into a usable texture for my Quake I map. I use Quark as level editor.
What shall I do? I know that I must create a wad file containing it, but I don’t know what tools are required. I tried to google, but it’s hard to find good resources about Quake editing nowadays.

Thanks in advance for your help

There used to be a site with such information but the server is down for a while. You may want to ask in QuakeOne forums or Func_Msgboard where people will know the latest tools to use with Quake 1.

The easiest way is to use Mipdip. It can even create the Mipmap, and store the texture in a wad-file.
