Why have people abandoned planet romero?

Why have people abandoned planet romero? i feel like i am the doom marine and this is well not hell exactly

Am i the last man standing?

where are you guys!

i loved the blue page as i call it and i think just a page outlook shouldt matter?
but where is everyone?

To answer your question, i haven’t really abandoned it (apparently). But the new forum software is really a PITA compared to the previous. It never remembers my logged in status and requires 2-3 steps to properly log in. Then once logged in, the link to show new messages since last visit never worked for me (it always shows an empty list) even if there are new messages. So i have to manually scan each forum and see if there are new messages – assuming i remember the last time i visited here (although since i don’t visit that often anything recent-ish is ok). Beyond that, there are several annoyances, like not having post previews, not being able to see the messages in a thread when replying below the post box, etc.

Basically the new forum software is much worse than the previous one. While the rest of the site was a major improvement, the forum went the opposite direction.

Beyond that, it is also that nobody seems to post stuff here so even when i visit there are barely new messages.

i agree i never know who ia m when i login cause ihave made like 3 accounts .. the normal accounts cannot be accepted cause it says ” there is no email adress”

I am working on learning to draw on pc and i will share with you guys when i am ready.

I was hoping to spice this site up with a regular game development updates, but Christmas and Uni work has got me pinned down once again.

And yes, signing in is a pain-in-the-ass.

Um, my Wii game collection has been increased with Metroid: Other M, Force Unleashed 2, GoldenEye 007 and Super Mario All stars box set. Oh, and I bought Force Unleashed Sith Edition for my laptop and the sodding thing refuses to run. Been playing though some older Star Wars games just for a trip down memory lane…

goldeneye was good ! graphically it was too colourles!

wish me luck on becoming a good drawer i bought a drawing device for my pc and i enjoy drawing on photohsop!

I have a 1 year old project i made for doom title picure which i have not worked on , i was eeger to show you guys but maybe soon i can do it..

I CANT UNDERSTAND how much doom has had an impact on me in my life artistically it always has been something i looked on as a masterpiece..

My hopes for duke nukem being another real masterpiece is very low , after what i have seen it is just another shooter and i doubt it will be able to be groundbreaking artistically..

To me believe it or not fallout 3 vegas has had sommethings that remind me of todays emersive gaming.. i think the tomorrows DOOM must have role playing elements , sandbox and interactive not only with objects but also being able to search and loot and customize..

Back in the days tobe able to do simple things were deep and realistic , today it wont cut it.

Remember there is no more elite battle then the battle against inner doom! be a doom marine ! march on ! hihihi

Oh, and on the look out for new FPS for my laptop, I have managed to hunt down a copy of Star Wars: Republic Commando. The demo was really good fun and so for only £7 it was money well spent for a full copy.

Most new PC titles don’t support Laptop chipsets(wtf was the point in DirectX then?), so hunting around for a suitable game led me to SW:RC. I reckon the compatibility is due to it running on the Unreal engine, which I hear is highly reliable.

I wonder how much hassle it would be to make a simple FPS with Visual C++.net and the Unreal engine…

YEAH..
its really frustrating when you dont get what you pay for!

I am a bit guilty for not being in this site as often as i should either

BUT LATELY I HAVENT DONE ANYTHING consistenly
besides my training phsyical training and sleeping late!

I dont know my life seems to just be floating arround ever since…

I am very sorry to hear that they dont support laptop chipsets , what is ALIENWARE going to do about it? their strong selling point for lapotps were gaming right?

Anyway if this was back in the days iw ould pay full price for duke forever but i am just abit unsure
but i will probably do it cuase gamestop and other sites will SUPERHYP IT cause it cant fail with the hype
and then iw ill prob go pay the 60# for a 2 hour game
sad

its a sad truth that something tha twas big one day cant be big today cause everything counts.
